County forced to settlement public records violations, criminals, also Washington State Bar members, Sean Reay, Sara Di Vittorio, and Jason Cummings GUILTY of concealing public records a Court holds; fines total a 1/2 Million

Early this year, the Gold Bar Reporters received public records which suggested that the Snohomish County Prosecutor and Executive John Lovick’s illegally withheld access to public records.  Public records that Citizens for Sustainable Washington requested almost four years ago.

As a result, the Gold Bar Reporters contacted Citizens for Sustainable Washington and turned over public records we received documenting that Snohomish County withheld public records requested by Citizens fo years.
On September 5, 2014, the Snohomish County Daily Herald reported that Snohomish County agreed to settle a public records suit brought as a result of withholding access to public records totaling more than $575,000.00.

Under RCW 42.56, an agency has five days to turn over public records or face a $105 per day fine.  In this case, Snohomish County’s withholding was clear from the records we turned over to Citizens earlier this year which would have resulted in a fine exceeding  $1,000,000.00 for withholding access to public records for over 3000 days.
As our readers can imagine, we were delighted that the illegally withheld public records that we received were helpful in assisting a citizen activist group.

When the shit reins down upon Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management early next year, Snohomish County will face a much heavier fine for running illegal background checks, and for withholding access to public records for over five years.
” The eye of the storm is near.”
